David Rees - Aquatic Ecologist

David received a B.S. and M.S. from Colorado State University where he studied fishery biology and ecotoxicology, respectively. He has more than 20 years experience in macroinvertebrate identification, data analysis, and report preparation. He is familiar with EPA protocols and more than 100 indices (metrics) using algae and benthic macroinvertebrates to evaluate aquatic conditions. David has extensive experience working with private entities, state agencies, and federal agencies including the USDA Forest Service, Colorado Division of Wildlife, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Reclamation. He is a certified taxonomist receiving a score of 100% on the certification exams for Western EPT taxa and Chironomidae. David has been an author or co-author on more than 75 technical reports and publications. He has project experience in ten western states and conducted benthic macroinvertebrate studies on more than 60 Colorado rivers and streams alone.
